UPDATED: 1 SEAL dead, 7 sailors injured in Fort Knox training accident

LOUISVILLE, KY (WREX) — One Navy SEAL is dead and seven sailors are injured after a Wednesday night training accident at Fort Knox.

Officials said a six SEALs and two other sailors were traveling in a Humvee during a tactical training exercise when it overturned, killing one and injuring the others. The Humvee was part of a convoy on the post, but it is not yet known what caused it to flip.

Special Warfare Operator Third Class Jonathan H. Kaloust of Massapequa, New York, died. The seven survivors were treated for minor injuries and released from a hospital.

Fort Knox hosts around 14,000 active-duty and reserve members of the military.
