Lewis Lemon put on soft lockdown after shots fired nearby


Lewis Lemon Elementary was put on soft lockdown Thursday afternoon after police say shots were fired nearby.

Rockford Police said the incident occurred near Jefferson and Miriam. A man allegedly shot at a vehicle. Witnesses said they saw the man run to a home on Albert. Police made contact with someone at that home, but did not call the man a suspect. He was questioned.

No weapons were found and no one was hurt.
