Northern Illinois Food Bank gets $72,335 check

Lawyers from around the area teamed up to fight hunger during the Lawyers Feeding Illinois food and fundraising drive.

The statewide campaign was held in February, with a goal of raising at least one million meals. However, thanks to lawyers, lawyer teams, and 2,000 donors, over 3.7 million meals were raised. A portion of those proceeds went to the Northern Illinois Food Bank.

John E. Thies, the president of the Illinois State Bar Association stopped in Rockford Thursday to present a check for $72,335.58 to the organization.
