District 205 students get special look at Discovery Channel documentary

Students in Rockford Public Schools got a special look at the North American continent on Thursday thanks to Discovery Education.

The group held a special screening of Discovery Channel's series "North America," which features a look at animal life, wilderness, and never-before-seen footage like Mexico's desert jaguar and grizzly bears hunting for salmon in Alaska.

Teachers and students have been provided with customized digital learning experiences to increase engagement and reinforce existing curriculum. Teachers will also gain access to interactive lesson plans and video from all seven episodes of the series.

The series airs on the Discovery Channel through June 16.
