Rockford woman shot, police search for suspect


A Rockford woman is in the hospital after being shot early Tuesday evening.

It happened at 413 Bayliss Avenue, near Andrews Street. Police say some people there for a party got into a fight. The 45-year-old ended up hit. She has what investigators call non-life-threatening injuries. Police are looking for a black man, about 5'9" tall and weighing roughly 200 pounds.

They say he drove away from the scene in a blue and white sedan. If you have any information you are asked to call Rockford Police or Crime Stoppers at 963-7867.
