Natural Land Institute (NLI) will host Wander
at Pecatonica Woodlands Preserve on Tuesday, May 14, 2013. The
hike starts at 6:00 p.m. and will be lead by former NLI Executive Director, Jerry Paulson. The
will wander through the preserve to see and learn about spring
wildflowers such as Virginia Bluebells and will see original hardwood
trees still standing in the forest like oak, walnut and ash.
Visitors may see a variety of bird and waterfowl species among other wildlife in this natural area during their visit.
The meeting location will be at the Torstenson Family Youth
Conservation Education Center, 13735 Cook Rd., Pecatonica, Illinois
Cost to attend is free
but registration is required
and limited to the first 40 people who sign up.

Attendees should wear sturdy walking shoes and dress for the weather in
long pants and long sleeves. The hike will take about an hour and a half
and covers approximately 2 miles.
