The Big Northern Conference girls track championship came down to the final race of the night and Byron had just enough to pull it out to share the conference title with Burlington Central.
Coming into the 4x400 relay, Byron trailed Burlington Central by four points, which means the Lady Tigers would have to finish first and hope for a third place or lower finish by Burlington Central. Byron's relay team of Challen Jackson, Ashley Whitmore, Rose Criscione and Brooke Holloway combined for the win in the race, while Oregon's Sam Judge helped the Lady Hawks take second in the race. Burlington Central finished third, which left them tied with Byron with 84 points for the conference championship. Sectionals are set for Friday in Oregon.
