RVC hosts Hispanic High School Leadership Conference

The Association of Latin American Students gathered at Rock Valley College on Friday, May 3 to host its annual High School Leadership Conference.

The event helps local Hispanic students prepare for college, hone educational and leadership skills, and network with their peers and local leaders.

Guest speaker Jimmy Cabrera elaborated on this year's theme of Education Today...Leader Tomorrow. During the afternoon, students met in breakout sessions on topics like how to get started at RVC and the school's Running Start program.

About 800 students were expected to attend.
