OREGON (WREX) -

Two Rockford men pled guilty to drug charges in Ogle County court on April 30.

Andre T. Hawkins, 34, pled guilty to Unlawful Delivery of a Controlled Substance within 1,000 feet of a Church and received ten years in prison. A co-defendant, 51-year-old Harvey L. Smith, pled guilty to Attempt Possession with the Intent to Delivery a Controlled Substance and received two years in prison.

The charges stemmed from an investigation during which police say Hawkins delivered less than one gram of heroin to a source within 1,000 feet of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Byron.

Along with the sentencings, over $1,100 in drug proceeds were given to the State.
