Lieutenant Governor Sheila Simon is asking the state legislature to act on an ethics reform package prior to May 31, the end of the current legislative session.
Simon said Wednesday lawmakers "cannot allow ethics reform to fall to the wayside," despite the many other issues they're currently working on.
The legislation is sponsored by Park Ridge Senator Dan Kotowski and would require elected officials to give more information about financial interests.
