The woman who helped bring in millions of dollars through the RAEDC counts down her final days.
Janyce Fadden has a few weeks left as president of the Rockford Area Economic Development Council. She was honored earlier his month by co-workers as they said their bittersweet goodbyes. As the time nears, she is still busy working on current projects, but is reminded frequently of her successes.
"To the grocery store or to the bank, or to lunch, people have stopped me and thanked me for the work and that is very humbling. I didn't realize so many people were tracking closely what we were doing here. Its exciting to me that the community cares about our work and that they feel our work is positive," said Fadden.
Fadden said she's taking some time off to spend with family, but plans on finding something where she can use her skills in business to help people. The organization is still working on finding and interim director before Fadden leaves.
