Rockford church raising funds for Angola well

ROCKFORD (WREX) -

Second Congregational/First Presbyterian Church is raising money to bring fresh water to children in Angola.

About $17,000 is needed to install a water well station in the courtyard of the Reverend Mike Solberg Evangelical School in Waku Kungo, Angola. The project will install the well, and four public taps for water to be distributed in an area about 330 feet from the school. Reservoirs will also be put in each classroom.

To go along with the well, the school will develop a water health education program for the students, their parents, and the surrounding community.

If you wish to donate, you can mail a check made out to Second Congregational/First Presbyterian Church, with Angola Water Project in the memo line, to Second Congregational/First Presbyterian Church, 318 North Church Street, Rockford, IL 61101.
