Rockford Area Lutheran Ministries is looking for teens between the ages of 14 and 15 to staff its Park PLAYers program this summer.
The non-violent conflict resolution playground program is in its twentieth season. The goal of the program is to develop youth into effective leaders who can both model and teach non-violent conflict resolution in order to better their community.
Lutheran Ministries is looking for teens committed to non-violence, open to learning new skills, willing to work with a team, comfortable working with children, and have leadership potential. All those interested must go through an interview at Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd (1829 North Rockton Avenue) on either Saturday, May 11 or Saturday, May18 from 10:00 a.m. to noon. In order to participate, teens must be there at 10:00 a.m. and be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
If hired, teens will need to obtain a worker's permit.
The program starts June 12 and runs from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday, through July 25, at Liberty Park.
