Rockford celebrates Arbor Day with tree planting

The City of Rockford Public Works Department Forestry Division celebrated Arbor Day by adding some greenery to Wellhouse 10.

A planting ceremony held Friday morning included a speech by Street Superintendent Mark Stockman on the importance of reforestation and giving attention to trees needed to maintain a canopy. City Forester Brandon Larson was also on hand to talk about the City's tree planting program.

National Arbor Day promotes reforestation within urban settings and the importance of trees to our quality of life.
