Loves Park traffic stop nets 2 arrests

LOVES PARK (WREX) -

A Loves Park man and a Rockford man were both arrested April 24, after police made a traffic stop in the 4800 block of North Second Street.

Loves Park officers pulled over 31-year-old Tito Vega. He was arrested and charged with the following:

  • Aggravated driving while license is revoked
  • Possession of cannabis
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia

While the officer was carrying out the traffic stop, the assisting officer later found a second person in the area. Lawndale Pelts, 24, was found to have outstanding warrants. He was arrested and charged with the following:

  • Armed violence
  • Possession with intent to deliver one to 15 grams of cocaine within 1,000 feet of a park
  • Unlawful use of a weapon by a felon
  • Unlawful use of a weapon by a street gang member
  • Aggravated unlawful use of a weapon
  • No FOID
  • Driving while suspended
  • 2 City of Rockford warrants
  • 1 Illinois Department of Corrections Warrant
