Rasmussen College in Rockford celebrated the opening of its School of Nursing Thursday with an open house and ribbon cutting.
The event was held at the school's East State Street campus and allowed potential nurses to learn more about how to obtain an Associate's of Applied Science degree in Professional Nursing.
"You know, Rasmussen has been a great school. I went here for medical assisting," Rasmussen nursing student Katie Hess said. "Their teachers are really down to earth; they're good about getting their students to pass. Their expectations are pretty high, but it's a great school to attend."
The program takes about two years to complete.
