Students at eleven District 205 elementary schools are on the move this week as part of Pedometer Week.
Fourth graders will spend their recesses walking, hopping, skipping, and running to compete in the pedometer challenge. The kids will then chart their progress and a special lunch will be given at each school to the class with the most steps.
Parents and staff are also joining in, in an effort to encourage exercise and healthy activity. Students at Beyer, Conklin, Ellis, Haskell, Kishwaukee, Lathrop, Nelson, Riverdahl, Walker, Walsh, and West View are participating.
Here at WREX, we're also hosting a pedometer-based challenge of our own. Click here to learn more about our 10,000 Steps Challenge.
