Rockford sees state's largest increase in jobs for March

According to not seasonally adjusted data released by the Illinois Department of Employment Security, the Rockford metro area saw the state's largest percentage increase in jobs last month.

The metro area includes Winnebago and Boone counties. When comparing March 2013 to March 2012, the area saw a 1.8 percent increase in jobs, bringing the unemployment rate to 11.8 percent, down from March 2012's rate of 12.1 percent.

The statewide unemployment rate was 9.4 percent.
