Electricity no longer available at Pecatonica River campground

The Winnebago County Forest Preserve District has stopped electrical service at the Pecatonica River Forest Preserve Campground due to an aging system and safety concerns.

The district is currently investigating the issue to see if it's fiscally possible to make the repairs needed to restore service. Campers in need of electricity are encouraged to use the district's other campgrounds at Sugar River Forest Preserve, Hononegah Forest Preserve, and Seward Bluffs Forest Preserve.

All four campgrounds are currently open for the season. For more information, visit www.wcfpd.org.
