Recent flooding is keeping the Rock River Water Reclamation District busy.
Extra workers were on hand to keep watch on all of the water stations in the area, ensuring there were no problems during the recent rain. District Director Steve Graceffa said crews made it through with very few issues and all 30 pump stations stayed online.
However, the extra moisture led to overtime and extra work.
"Our normal flow is about 30 million a day, we're pumping in the 60 million range right now, so it has had an impact," he said. "It's not a problem per se, but it does cause extra electricity costs."
Graceffa added he doesn't expect any problems as the Rock River goes down.
