A 19-year-old Rockford man has been arrested and charged with two counts of residential burglary.

Just before 3:00 p.m. on Monday, April 22, Rockford Police received a call from a citizen who said they saw an unknown man crawling through their neighbor's window in the 800 block of Garfield Avenue.

Officers on the scene found a bike beneath the window and saw a man inside. At first, the man refused to leave, but eventually exited the residence through the front door and was arrested.

A follow-up investigation showed the man, Tyrone M. Lewis, was also involved in a residential burglary in the 1000 block of Harlem Boulevard. Property from that residence was recovered.
