Reassessments available for flood damage in Winnebago County


Property reassessments are now available for property owners who have experienced substantial damage from recent flooding in Winnebago County.

Winnebago County is one of 37 around the state to be declared a state disaster area due to flooding. A method for prorating a property's original assessment for 2013 up to the date of the disaster proclamation and taking the reassessed value of the property for the rest of the year is available through the Illinois Property Tax Code.

Applications for reassessment can be found at the Supervisor of Assessments Office, from all Township Assessors, and by clicking on the Disaster Relief Application tab under Additional Pages at
