East State Road Ranger robbed


Rockford Police are investigating an armed robbery at the Road Ranger in the 5300 block of East State Street.

The robbery occurred around 11:30 p.m. on Monday, April 22. An employee of the gas station said a man entered the store, showed a black semi-automatic handgun and demanded cash.

The man then left with an unknown amount of money and got into a black SUV-type vehicle across the street. The vehicle was last seen going south on Newtowne Drive. There were no injuries.

The suspect is described as between 17 and 20 years old, about 5'8" tall with a medium build. He was wearing a black mask, black hoodie, black pants, and black shoes with white laces.
