Rockford Park District looking for volunteers

The Rockford Park District is looking for volunteers to help the organization fulfill its mission to "Help People Enjoy Life!"

The district offers volunteer opportunities for individuals, groups, families, associations, and businesses in a variety of ways, including:

  • Adopting a park and keeping it clean by raking mulch, planting flowers, mowing grass, and painting shelters
  • Adopting or sponsoring maintenance like painting gazebos, outbuildings, and other small projects
  • Adopting a horse at Lockwood Park
  • Providing sponsorship support with dollars or in-kind support
  • Joining a "Friends" group like Friends of Lockwood or Friends of Atwood
  • Volunteering to work special events like the Illinois Snow Sculpting Competition and sports tournaments
  • Volunteering to work in park district administrative offices or facilities
  • Helping the Rockford Park District Foundation
