State Treasurer Dan Rutherford will bring his I-Cash event to Rochelle this week with hopes of finding money or unclaimed property for Ogle County residents.
The program reunites people with unclaimed property and cash through the state's Unclaimed Property Division, which currently has $1.7 billion in cash and contents from safe deposit boxes that have been inactive for at least five years.
On Wednesday, April 24, representatives from Rutherford's office will be at Abraham's Bar and Grille, 1127 North 7th Street, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
"People are thrilled to find out they have money just waiting for them through I-Cash," Rutherford said. "I encourage area residents to come visit me at local I-Cash events for assistance in locating their money or property—plus everyone should make an attempt to review our online database annually so they don't miss out on money or valuable assets the state is holding for them."
