National gas prices drop, Rockford prices rise

While the national average price of gas per gallon dropped 1.6 cents last week, the price rose 17.2 cents in the Rockford area.

According to GasBuddy.com's survey of 139 local outlets, the average price of gas was $3.70 per gallon on Sunday, up 17.2 cents in just a week. However, that price is 17.8 cents lower than it was a year ago and 2.3 cents lower than one month ago.

Nationally, prices dropped 1.6 cents to $3.50 per gallon, making the price 34.7 cents lower than one year ago and 14.5 cents lower than one month ago.
