Aurora teen accused of trying to join terrorist organization

An 18-year-old Aurora resident was arrested Friday and accused of trying to join a terrorist organization.

However, Abdella Ahmad Tounisi's father, Ahmad Tounisi, said his son had talked about traveling to Tunisia, Egypt, and Syria to help oppressed people, but he did not believe his son would do what authorities are accusing him of.

Tounisi was arrested while trying to board a flight from O'Hare to Turkey, which borders Syria. He was arrested after trying to contact a fake website set up by the FBI.

He is scheduled to appear in court Tuesday.
