Aldeen Park cleaned up with help of Earth Day volunteers

High waters and muddy conditions don't hold back a group hoping to help clean up the environment around them.

Monday is Earth Day so a group of nature lovers celebrate by cleaning up Aldeen Park.   The Natural Land Institute hosts the clean-up.   They picked up debris throughout the park, woods and prairie along Keith Creek.

The Rockford Park District provided bags, grabber sticks and gloves so volunteers didn't have to bring their own.

Volunteers say a wind tunnel blows trash around the park.  That's why Aldeen was cleaned.
