During a press conference held jointly with OSF HealthCare in Peoria via live feed, OSF HealthCare announced it is the newest member of the Mayo Clinic Care Network.
According to OSF CEO Kevin Schoeplein, the partnership will give doctors access to Mayo's resources and research, including that on cancer care. Patients will benefit from the experience of both systems and have access to Mayo's expertise from Rockford.
Medical Director of the Mayo Clinic Care Network Dr. David Hayes said, "We want to work together using the latest technology and tools. It allows extension of knowledge and expertise to OSF doctors."
The organizations say the goal of the collaboration is to accelerate and improve the quality of health care provided to patients.
