Rockford man arrested for several shooting incidents

A 22-year-old Rockford man has been arrested for a series of shootings.

Rockford Police began investigating shooting incidents in the 2400 block of Mulberry, the 700 block of North Central Avenue, a home in the 600 block of Lexington Avenue, the 500 block of Seminary Street, and the 4100 block of Auburn Street in February.

After the investigation, 22-year-old Kennin K. Darden was charged with unlawful use of weapons by a street gang member, no FOID (revoked), and as an armed habitual criminal.

Darden was arrested without incident on April 9. He is currently on probation in Winnebago County for narcotic-related offenses.

Due to the ongoing nature of the investigation, Rockford Police are not officially releasing a photograph of Darden.
