ROCKFORD (WREX) -

A whole courtroom in tears after a little boy testifies about witnessing his mom's murder. It was for the trial of Alexander Castillo, he's accused of killing a Rockford couple in their home back in 2010.

He allegedly did it while two children were sleeping.

One of them, Antonio Barbour, woke up to see his mom shot. He was just 7-years-old at the time. He is now 10.

"What did you notice?" asks Tiffany Davis, prosecutor.

"A gun," answers Antonio.

"And was he just holding the gun down? What was he doing with the gun?" asks Davis.

"He pointed it at my mother," says Antonio.

He spoke about how after the killer left he first got out of bed and laid down next to his mom. When asked why he did said because he loved her.

Christa and Michael Clark were killed in their home May 10, 2010. The couple was shot to death around two in the morning. In court, detectives showed crime scene photos and video. Michael Clark was shot in the head while he was sitting on his couch watching TV and eating a snack. The food he was about to take a bite of appeared to have fallen out of his hands just after he was shot.

Christa Clark was shot in the hallway leading to her children's room. She was hit multiple times. Her son Antonio says it was the gunshots that woke him. He watched as the bullets hit his mom and heard her moan with each shot. He said he saw a man standing over her, someone he recognized, Alexander Castillo.

But the defense pointed out that was not the name he gave police. He first told police someone nicknamed "Bliz" shot his mom. That was the nickname of another man, not Castillo. They also questioned how well he was able to identify Castillo when the age and height he gave police did not match Castillo. Plus, he saw him from the profile not straight on.

The defense still has to put on its case. Castillo has pleaded not guilty. The trial is expected to last all week.
