Freeport programs awarded grants during annual reception


The Freeport Community Foundation's Board of Directors celebrated its annual grant reception by awarding ten area organizations.

A total of $34,881.96 in grant money was distributed Tuesday from the Freeport Community Needs Fund and the Matthew A. Marvin Fund.

The following organizations received grants from the Matthew A. Marvin Fund:

  • Assault and Abuse Services of Stephenson County - $7,181
  • Freeport Art Museum - $4,135
  • Habitat for Humanity Freeport - $5,000
  • Northern Illinois Food Bank - $4,473
  • Parkview Home - $1,992.96
  • VOICES DV - $4,700

The Community needs Fund awarded the following grants:

  • American Red Cross Northwest Illinois Chapter - $1,100
  • Freeport Community Public School Fund - $3,600
  • NAMI - $1,200
  • Stephenson County Historical Society - $1,500
