Voters all over Illinois have important decisions to make tomorrow. And with that decision sometimes comes a lot of questions to make sure your vote county. The Winnebago County Clerk's office says most often people want to know if they are registered and where to vote.
"If they voted in the presidential election in November they are still on the list. Their polling places have not changed we have not changed any polling places locations so if they voted in November they should be able to go to the same voting location and vote for tomorrow," says Margie Mullins, Winnebago County Clerk.
If you don't remember where that location is most counties like Winnebago have a website that lets you put in your address and gives you your polling place. You can reach that at http://elections.winnebagocountyclerk.com.
If you don't want to stand in a long line avoid peak times. Around noon and after work are often the busiest for both Winnebago County and the City of Rockford. But neither expect a large number of voters.
"We had around 25% turnout last mayoral election so I'm guessing we'll have," says Ken Harper, Rockford Board of Elections, executive director.
Though you can bring along your voter registration card or an ID you are not required to show it. All you need is your signature to vote.
"I would hope that everybody would take the opportunity to go and vote tomorrow because the people that they are going to vote for tomorrow are people who make decision about, that touches their life on a daily basis," says Mullins.
If you have questions about your voter registration offices will be open early tomorrow. In Winnebago County, the clerk's office expects someone should be in to answer your phone call by 5 a.m. if you dial (815) 319-4252. The Rockford Board of Elections will be picking up its phones by 6 a.m. at (815) 987-5750.
The polls open tomorrow at 6 a.m. and close at 7 p.m.
