RPS205 board candidates feel they're being targeted

Two Rockford school district 205 board candidates team up to fight what they call bullying and smear campaigning.

Juan Reyes is running for the open seat in sub district F.   He and former board member Alice Saudargas have been teaming up recently.

They say they've been subjected to dirty campaigning tactics.   Reyes was arrested Thursday for an incident back in November where he was accused of impersonating a police officer.

According to Reyes, he's a member of the Illinois Police Bureau and is an officer.   He says he has no idea where the arrest and charges are coming from.

Saudargas claims around the time of Reyes' arrest, she started receiving phone calls, threatening her bodily harm if she continued her campaign.

She's running against incumbent Ken Scrivano for a seat in sub district C as a write-in candidate.
