Janesville man arrested, home condemned in drug bust

A 35-year-old Janesville man faces multiple charges after a search warrant was executed by the Rock County Sheriff's Office SWAT Team at his home.

The search of the home in the 600 block of South Walnut Street was a result of an investigation by the Rock County Sheriff's Office Special Investigations Unit. During the search, the Winnebago County Sheriff's Office Bomb Squad was called in to inspect an object that appeared to be a pipe bomb. However, the device was disabled and found to be free of any explosives.

Ten marijuana plants, nine grams of mushrooms, and 192.2 grams of processed marijuana were seized. The City of Janesville then condemned the home, deeming it unfit for human habitation.

Michael D. Ruckert was charged with the following:

  • Possession with intent to deliver THC
  • Manufacturing THC
  • Maintaining a drug house
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia
  • Possession of Psilocybin (hallucinogenic mushrooms)
