Regent Earns NAC Honors

Junior second baseman Chris Senn (Apple Valley, Calif./Silverado) was voted as the Northern Athletics Conference Position Player of the Week for his outstanding play on the field last Saturday. Senn becomes the second Regent in as many weeks to earn a weekly award from the conference; as just last week, Streed was recognized as the Northern Athletics Conference Pitcher of the Week.

Senn provided one of the top hitting performances of the year so far for Rockford on Saturday against Dominican. The junior went 5-9 (.566) during the doubleheader with an on-base percentage of .600 and slugged a whopping 1.556. Senn blasted 3 home runs on the day and drove in 4 runs helping Rockford sweep the Stars to begin NAC play 2-0. His first home run came at a very opportune time as it tied the opening game in the bottom of the eighth and eventually sent the game into extra innings. The Apple Valley native hit two more home runs for the Regents in the second game to help complete the sweep.

So far this season Senn has been one of the Regents top hitters. He currently leads the team with a .379 batting average, is second with a .455 on-base percentage and has a team-high .793 slugging percentage. Senn is also tied for the team-lead with 3 home runs, tied for second with 3 doubles and is third on the Regents with 8 runs batted in.

The Regents open the home portion of their schedule on Saturday, April 6th against Concordia University Wisconsin. First pitch of the doubleheader is set for 12 p.m. at Aviators Stadium.
