Rochelle Municipal Utility is looking to solar power to help meet the increased energy need in the city.
The continued growth of manufacturing and other businesses in the area has forced Rochelle to purchase extra electricity from other places, which can be expensive.
Solar power is being considered as a possible solution. Roof space within Rochelle would be outfitted with solar panels, helping the city to cover peak electricity usage in the summer without having to resort to buying electricity from others.
