Newtown gunman had article on 2008 NIU shooting

An article on the deadly shooting at Northern Illinois University was found among the possessions of Adam Lanza, the man who killed 26 people at Sandy Hook Elementary School.

Police released search warrants relating to Lanza's home and belongings on Thursday, March 28. Books on autism, a metal bayonet, swords, several firearms, and a military-style uniform were found in his room along with the article.

Five students died when former student Steven Kazmierczak opened fire in an NIU classroom on Valentine's Day 2008. He then killed himself.

Lanza killed 20 first-graders and six educators before turning the gun on himself on December 14, 2012.
