An analysis that looked at dozens of the country's most popular restaurant chains shows that kids don't always get the healthiest meal options.
Although many kids meals have added fruits, vegetables, and low-fat drinks, many still feature items like chicken nuggets, cheeseburgers, and macaroni and cheese that are high in sodium, calories, and fat.
The children's grilled cheese and fries meal at Applebee's was one of the worst offenders, coming in at over 1,000 calories.
In contrast, Subway passed the test with all kids sandwiches coming with apple slices and water, apple juice, or one percent milk.
