A 17-year-old girl is suffering from a gunshot wound to the foot after being shot in a Rockford alley.
The girl and her boyfriend were walking in the alley of 1900 South Fourth Street around 10:25 p.m. on Wednesday when a maroon SUV approached them and the driver began shooting at both the girl and her boyfriend as they ran away.
The girl was struck in the foot and transported to Swedish American Hospital for treatment. She's listed in fair-condition.
Shell casings were recovered from the scene.
