Teen arrested for shooting death of 20-year-old Rockford man


A teen has been arrested in the February shooting death of a 20-year-old Rockford man.

Eighteen-year-old Damarius L. Nelson was arrested on March 27 in Harvey, Illinois. He and 19-year-old Tommy G. Nabors have both been charged with Aggravated Battery with a Firearm and Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon in the death of Jimmy Hollins.

Hollins was brought to the emergency room at Rockford Memorial Hospital around 10:15 p.m. on February 25. He died of a gunshot wound to the chest. The scene of the shooting was found to be in the 300 block of Underwood Street.

Nabors is already in custody.
