Man convicted of killing Rockford teens dies

The man convicted of killing 17-year-old Michael Pixler and 16-year-old Randall Morton in 1976 has died.

Dale Dean Finch killed the teens on Christmas Eve, 1976 while robbing the Citgo gas station at which they worked. Each were shot in the head. Finch was sentenced to two consecutive 50- to 100-year prison terms for their deaths and four to 12 years for the robbery.

Finch died on March 22, 2013 at the age of 56.

He was most recently denied parole in March of 2012.
