Loves Park Police announces citizen notification system


The Loves Park Police Department has teamed up with the Winnebago County Sheriff's Department's 911 Center and Winnebago County Information Technology for a new citizen notification system.

The system aims to give residents real-time information that could include suspected criminal activity in a specific area, road closures and traffic alerts, and other information pertaining to public safety. All information will come from the Loves Park Police Department through text, voice mail, and/or email to anyone who signs up for the service.

As of May 1, the Loves Park Police Department will no longer use the alert system in favor of the new notification system.
