Public welcome to help assess Illinois State Police

Posted:

Illinois State Police announce an assessment of their operations coming up in April.

The ISP will be examined by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc.  This is the 7th re-accreditation assessment the police department will receive.  Policy, procedures and management are just some of the aspects being looked at.  The assessment team will ride along with Troopers, interview employees and review written materials.

According to ISP Accreditation Program Manager Master Sergeant Mark Chounard, the assessment team is made up of experienced law enforcement practitioners from out-of-state agencies.

Agency employees and members of the community can include comments by calling the team at (877) 318-9971

The assessment by CALEA will be April 14-17.
