Galapagos Rockford Charter School has received a $1,480 Illinois Biodiversity Field Trip Grant to support its science program.
The grant is from the Illinois Department of Natural Resources' Division of Education and will help the school take fifth graders on an overnight field study to Atwood Environmental Center. While there, students will collect and record data related to water quality. They will also participate in evening activities to study the night sky.
The grant was written by Galapagos science instructor Christa Haverly.
