Illinois State Police District 16 release results of March enforcement

Illinois State Police District 16 has released the results of increased enforcement over the recent St. Patrick's Day holiday.

A roadside safety check was held late on March 16 and into the early hours of March 17 at Illinois Route 2 and Illinois Route 75, South Beloit. District 16 officers teamed up with seven officers from the Winnebago County Sheriff's Police and four officers from the South Beloit Police Department.

During the check, the following citation were issued:

  • Driver's License Offenses - 11
  • Occupant Restraint Offenses - 12
  • DUI Arrests - 3
  • Other Alcohol/Drug Arrests - 18
  • Total Citations/Arrests - 67
  • Total Written Warnings - 9

The check was funded by the Illinois Department of Transportation's Division of Traffic Safety.
