You can help the fight for cancer by walking from dusk to dawn June 21st.
Relay For Life teams camp out around a track, taking turns walking throughout the night. The kickoff for the event was held at Thunder Bay Grille and promotes teams to join. Proceeds from the walk go towards free patient programs that are offered out of the American Cancer Society Rockford office and also support nationwide research.
Catherine Povalitis, from the American Cancer Society says this year's goal for the walk is $130,000.
"We celebrate our cancer survivors. We honor those who have been affected by cancer that we've lost to the disease and Relay for Life gives us the opportunity to fight back."
