The Winnebago County Forest Preserve District Board of Commissioners has announced a new executive director for the agency.
Beginning on April 10, Michael Holan will replace retiring Executive Director Tom Kalousek, who has served in that role since 1999.
Holan has worked for over thirty years in forest preserve districts and most recently served as the director of operations and maintenance at the Kane County Forest Preserve District. Prior to that he worked at the Forest Preserve District of DuPage County for 21 years.
Holan's goals for the district include providing public access to land for recreation and education, encourage community involvement in the district, and preserve natural lands for current and future generations.
