Rockton Board supports casino revenue split

Another Winnebago County municipality votes to support a revenue split plan for a casino that doesn't even exist yet.

That casino, in Rockford, is part of a gambling expansion bill working through Springfield.  So is an amendment attached to that expansion that would force the city of Rockford to share any revenue with the rest of Winnebago County, 50/50.  Rockton Village Board members voted unanimously to support the forced share.  We told you Roscoe was considering the same move.  Loves Park did it Monday night.

Rockton Village President, Dale Adams says "We have parks to maintain, we have police departments of our own.  So its not just Rockford that has a revenue shortfall, all of us could use extra revenue."

Rockford Aldermen recently passed resolution against the equal split.
