Rockford school board candidates speak at forum

The April 9th general election is approaching and while smaller than November's big day, local school board candidates are still on the campaign trail.

Dr. Ehren Jarrett came up in discussion as board candidates vying for sub districts A, E, F and G talked about the importance of consistency in the superintendent's position.

The district's high school academies also came up as a talking point, as did the referendum and facilities plan.

Every board seat is up for grabs come April. Laura Powers was the only current board member involved in the forum tonight, Lisa Jackson was not in attendance to represent sub district A.

A mix of voters and candidate supporters nearly filled the Sullivan Center hoping to learn about the candidates' stances.
